Since April 2023, a group of 17 real estate companies linked to businessman Carlos Suarez has been undergoing extrajudicial liquidation, according to records found in the Commercial Registry of the State of Bahia.
Sources consulted report that serious disagreements between the partners — lawyer Francisco Bastos and Suarez — led to the liquidation of the companies. The dispute between them is considered serious and is already being discussed both in Bahia and in Brasília.
With the liquidation, the companies will be dissolved, and extensive areas located in the city of Salvador, as well as the famous Ilha dos Frades (Friars' Island), will be divided between the two partners after the companies' creditors have been paid.
