Flávio Bolsonaro already has a clear idea of his next priority in the clash against the federal government: he wants to take advantage of the favorable relationship with the president of the Senate, Davi Alcolumbre, to request a session in which it will be possible to overturn Lula's vetoes on the bill that included 22 municipalities in Rio de Janeiro in the Semi-Arid region and, with this, extended the Garantia Safra benefit to family farmers in these locations.
And where does Rio fit into this? The fact is that overturning the vetoes would be crucial to consolidating votes in the municipalities of the interior. With Flávio leading this movement and heading the campaign, Douglas Ruas would also benefit against Eduardo Paes.
The objective would be to pit Lula against rural producers in the interior and reinforce the safeguards given to farmers by the right wing.
The project, obviously, has the blessing of the Rio de Janeiro caucus. In the Senate, the text was reported by Romário and Carlos Portinho (both from Flávio Bolsonaro's PL party).
