After being threatened by Councilman Ítalo Ciba (Avante), who in an interview with Globo stated that if he meets him he will break his face, former governor Anthony Garotinho announced today that he will file a criminal complaint against the parliamentarian this Monday (April 2nd). "He cannot make serious threats like this with impunity," Garotinho stated.
Former military police officer Ítalo Ciba was involved in the same police incident in which Captain Adriano Nóbrega was convicted of killing a parking attendant. In an interview with Globo, the councilman claims that Garotinho pressured two prosecutors to accuse him of involvement in the parking attendant's death and that, in exchange, he promised to promote them to the rank of judge. At the time, Garotinho was Secretary of Public Security under Governor Rosinha.
