Atlas/Intel: Motta and Alcolumbre lead in political rejection

Research shows that the presidents of the Chamber of Deputies and the Senate have the worst approval ratings among national leaders; Lula appears with the best positive image.

The Latam Pulse Brasil survey, released this Thursday (28) by Atlas/Intel in partnership with Bloomberg, indicates that the presidents of the Chamber of Deputies, Hugo Motta, and the Senate, Davi Alcolumbre, are the politicians with the worst image among the leaders evaluated in the survey.

According to the data, only 2% of those interviewed said they had a positive image of Alcolumbre, while 83% said they viewed him negatively. Motta, on the other hand, has a 4% positive rating and an 82% disapproval rating.

The survey asked respondents whether they had a positive or negative image of 13 national political leaders.

President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva was the most highly rated, with 48% positive image. Following him were the Finance Minister, Fernando Haddad, and Vice-President Geraldo Alckmin, both with 45%.

Flávio Bolsonaro has the highest disapproval rating.

Among the names being considered for the 2026 presidential race, Senator Flávio Bolsonaro registered a 38% positive approval rating. This figure is lower than that of former President Jair Bolsonaro and former First Lady Michelle Bolsonaro, both with 40%.

Despite this, Flávio Bolsonaro leads in rejection among the presidential candidates tested. According to the survey, 59% of respondents stated they have a negative image of the senator. Atlas/Intel attributes the result to the damage caused by recent controversies involving the parliamentarian's name and the banker Daniel Vorcaro.

The survey polled 5.032 people between May 13 and 18. The margin of error is one percentage point, plus or minus, with a 95% confidence level. The survey was registered with the Superior Electoral Court (TSE) under number BR-06939/2026.
