Mothers of missing children and teenagers held an event this Sunday (3) around the Maracanã Stadium, in the North Zone of Rio de Janeiro, with the aim of drawing attention to 638 cases of disappearances registered in the state.
The mobilization was part of the SOS Missing Children campaign and took place on a day with high public traffic, taking advantage of the classic match between Vasco and Flamengo to increase the visibility of the cause.
The action took place at the stadium entrance, near gate D, in front of the Bellini statue, where posters with photos and information about missing children and teenagers were displayed.

Campaign expands outreach inside and outside the stadium.
In addition to the external action, the campaign also occupied strategic spaces inside the Maracanã stadium to reach more people.
During the teams' warm-up, a banner with images of missing children and teenagers was displayed on the field. Simultaneously, the stadium's video screens also showed the same photos, significantly increasing the reach of the message to the audience.
The initiative sought to leverage the presence of thousands of fans to enhance information sharing and increase the chances of locating them.
Anyone who recognizes any of the children or has information that could help with the search can contact us via WhatsApp: (21) 98596-5296.
Foundation highlights the importance of social mobilization.
According to the president of the Foundation for Children and Adolescents, Taciane Bezerra, public actions like the one carried out at Maracanã are fundamental to strengthening the support network and expanding the possibilities of reunion.
According to her, each new disclosure represents a concrete opportunity for recognition and receipt of information relevant to investigations and searches.
Taciane also highlighted the symbolism of the mothers' presence at the event, especially since it took place in the month in which Mother's Day is celebrated, reinforcing the emotional and social appeal of the campaign.
The organizers expect that the extensive exhibition will encourage reports, sharing of information, and greater public awareness of the problem of missing children in Rio de Janeiro.
