Brazil vs. Panama: Fluminense fan blocks Flamengo banner and video goes viral; watch

A Fluminense fan drew attention during the teams' entrance into the Maracanã stadium by preventing a large red flag from being raised, a scene that went viral on social media during the Brazilian national team's victory over Panama.

An unusual scene ended up stealing some of the spotlight at the friendly match between Brazil and Panama, played this Sunday (31), at Maracanã. While the crowd was preparing a big party to welcome the Brazilian National Team, a Fluminense fan drew attention by preventing a red and black flag from being raised in the stadium stands.

The incident occurred as the teams entered the field and quickly gained traction on social media. Videos of the situation circulated among fans, generating a series of comments and jokes about the Rio de Janeiro rivalry.

According to information published by the Lance! website, the large banner was not related to any football clubs. The report indicated that the banner displayed a sponsor's logo. Even so, many internet users interpreted that the Fluminense fan had mistaken the banner for a symbol linked to Flamengo and, therefore, decided to stand in front of it to prevent its display.

The scene ended up becoming one of the most talked-about topics among the fans present and on digital platforms. Despite the setback, the Brazilian fans' celebration continued as normal, with mosaics, flags, and plenty of support for the team led by coach Carlo Ancelotti.

A resounding victory for the Brazilian National Team.

On the field, the Brazilian National Team responded with a convincing performance and defeated Panama 6-2. The standout player of the first half was Vinícius Júnior, who scored just two minutes in and participated in the team's main offensive plays.

After Panama briefly equalized, Casemiro put Brazil back in the lead before halftime. In the second half, the Brazilian team returned more aggressively and turned the victory into a rout.

Rayan, Lucas Paquetá, Igor Thiago, and Danilo Santos completed the list of goalscorers that night. Panama managed to score again, but it wasn't enough to overcome the overwhelming superiority of the Brazilian team in front of more than 70 fans who attended the Maracanã.

Even with Brazil scoring six goals, the scene involving the Fluminense fan ended up dividing attention and became one of the most talked-about moments of the friendly match.
