Police officer dies 20 days after motorcycle accident on the Yellow Line.

The police officer had both legs amputated after a collision and was hospitalized in serious condition in Duque de Caxias.

Military Police Corporal Vinício Ferreira Alves, 38, died this Tuesday (26), 20 days after the serious motorcycle accident on the Yellow Line, towards Barra, near Inhaúma, North Zone of RioAt the time, the victim had to be rescued with the help of a Fire Department helicopter.

The police officer was rescued on May 6th and taken in serious condition to the Adão Pereira Nunes Municipal Hospital in Duque de Caxias, in the Baixada Fluminense region. On the same day as the accident, he underwent surgery and had both legs amputated.

After initial treatment, he remained hospitalized in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) of the hospital, but he did not survive the complications.

How was the accident?

According to witnesses, Vinício was riding a motorcycle when he collided with a car and ended up being thrown under a truck.

He was assigned to the Directorate of Veterans of the Military Police and leaves behind two daughters. The burial took place this Wednesday (27), at the Jardim da Saudade Cemetery, in Sulacap, in the West Zone of Rio.
