Aesthetic clinic shut down in São João de Meriti after patient complaints.

The employee was caught in the act, and police are investigating eight cases of serious bodily harm.

A beauty clinic located in São João de Meriti, in the Baixada Fluminense region, was shut down after complaints from patients who reported health complications following cosmetic procedures performed there. The operation was carried out by the Consumer Protection Police Station (Decon), in conjunction with the 64th Police Station (São João de Meriti) and agents from the municipal Health Surveillance agency.

According to investigations, the clinic is already the subject of eight inquiries for serious bodily harm. During the operation, an employee identified as Alessandra Oliveira de Jesus was arrested in the act for the crimes of criminal association and crimes against consumer relations.

The Civil Police are also searching for Ana Paula Lima de Souza Mariano, identified as the owner of the establishment. She was not located during the operation carried out in the Vilar dos Teles neighborhood, one of the busiest areas of the municipality.

Patients reported serious complications.

According to the officers, several women sought police assistance after reporting health problems related to procedures performed at the clinic. One of the patients who filed complaints has been hospitalized for more than 20 days due to complications.

Investigators warn that new victims can contact the Consumer Protection Agency to file complaints and collaborate with ongoing investigations.

Delegate Wellington Pereira Vieira, head of Decon, highlighted the importance of consumers verifying whether professionals are qualified and what substances are being used in cosmetic procedures.

Health inspectors found irregularities.

During the inspection, agents found expired medications and even expired saline solution stored on the premises. According to the Health Surveillance agency, the establishment presented several irregularities related to hygiene and sanitation conditions.

The clinic was shut down indefinitely after it was found to be in violation of health regulations stipulated by law.

Authorities have reinforced their warning for the public to exercise caution when hiring aesthetic services, especially for invasive procedures, verifying the qualifications of professionals and the proper registration of establishments.

Police are continuing to investigate the case.

The Civil Police continue to investigate the allegations involving the aesthetic clinic in São João de Meriti and do not rule out the emergence of new cases in the coming days.

Investigators are working to locate the owner of the establishment and further analyze the materials seized during the operation.

Authorities are advising potential victims to immediately contact the Consumer Protection Police Station to file complaints and present medical documents that may assist in the investigation.
