A truck carrying refrigerator motors was the target of robbery and looting in the Complexo da Maré, in the North Zone of Rio, this Monday (4). The vehicle had left Curitiba, in Paraná, and was intercepted on Avenida 29 de Julho, in the Nova Holanda community.
According to information from the Rio de Janeiro Civil Police, the case was forwarded to the Capital's Cargo Theft and Robbery Division (DRFC-Cap), which began coordinating an operation to "repress" this type of crime in the region. The incident also mobilized teams from the Military Police of the State of Rio de Janeiro. In a statement, the corporation reported that police officers from the 22nd BPM (Maré) received information about a truck without a license plate circulating on Avenida 29 de Julho, in Bonsucesso, in the Nova Holanda area.
The officers went to the scene and began investigations, which are ongoing in conjunction with the Civil Police.
