Deputy Major Fabiana could be Mayor Crivella's deputy

Encouraged by Bolsonaro's rapprochement with the PSL, Mayor Marcello Crivella is considering nominating a party member as his running mate. Federal Deputy Major Fabiana is the top candidate. Being a woman and a member of the military, two requirements sought by the Rio mayor's group for his ticket, Fabiana has the advantage of being a member of the PSL's pro-Bolsonaro wing.

Last Thursday, President Jair Bolsonaro stated that he is considering returning to the PSL, a party with which he split in late 2019 to create his own party, Aliança pelo Brasil, which did not receive enough signatures to be approved by the Superior Electoral Court (TSE). PSL national president Luciano Bivar also offered Bolsonaro allies a peace proposal following the split in late 2019.
