Governor Wilson Witzel called for the collective resignation of all representatives, including his own, for new elections. In a confrontational tone, the governor attempted to share responsibility for the mistakes made during the pandemic with the representatives, who, he said, were negligent and failed to effectively oversee the state's administration.

Raising his voice several times, Witzel also spoke directly to the deputies, to whom he responded by stating that, if he was silent, then all of them would be too.

"The door was always open, but how many sat with me? Few were there. If I was negligent, then all of you are negligent," he said, referring to the parliament. "If this understanding prevails, we will no longer have unfinished terms in Brazil. The governor of Santa Catarina, who doesn't please the base of representatives because he may not pursue the policies they desire, is already in the same situation I find myself in today. The left that says President Dilma staged a coup d'état, I haven't seen a single voice raised today," he said.

The governor provoked some deputies. "Mr. Renan Ferreirinha, why didn't you go and check if there was a shortage of doctors, that they weren't working," he said.

Wilson Witzel complained that he wasn't approached to discuss field hospitals to combat the pandemic. "When I launched the field hospital project, not a single representative showed up to discuss the matter."
