President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva (PT) is facing a scenario of declining public opinion, according to research released this Monday (1st) by the Real Time Big Data InstituteThe survey indicates that 50% of Brazilians disapprove of the president's performance in his third term, while 43% approve of the work done by the head of the federal Executive branch.
Another 7% of respondents said they did not know or preferred not to answer the question about their approval rating of the government.
The data was released by CNN Brazil and reflect voters' perceptions of the federal government at a time marked by economic challenges, debates about inflation, and political discussions surrounding the 2026 presidential elections.
Disapproval outweighs approval.
According to the survey, disapproval of the president's performance reaches half of the Brazilian electorate, opening a seven percentage point difference compared to the approval rating.
The result highlights a scenario of division in the evaluation of the government, although the numbers show an advantage for those who negatively assess the presidential performance.
The research also sought to measure Brazilians' perception of the overall performance of the federal administration, detailing the levels of satisfaction and dissatisfaction with the government.
Negative review outweighs positive one.
When asked about the quality of Lula's administration, 14% of respondents rated the government as excellent and another 14% considered it good.
Combined, the positive reviews reach 28%.
The group that considers the government to be doing an average job represents 25% of those interviewed, forming the largest individual range of responses.
On the negative side, 20% rated the administration as bad and 27% rated it as terrible.
As a result, the sum of negative ratings reaches 47%, exceeding the total of positive ratings by 19 percentage points.
Another 2% did not know how to answer or preferred not to comment.

The survey was conducted by the Real Time Big Data Institute between May 29th and 30th.
In total, 2.000 people were interviewed in different regions of the country.
The margin of error is plus or minus two percentage points, with a 95% confidence level.
The survey is registered with the Superior Electoral Court (TSE) under protocol BR-05864/2026.
