Mother of drug trafficker arrested on suspicion of attacking former daughter-in-law with 34 stab wounds in Praça Seca.

Police are searching for a second person involved, identified as an accomplice in the attempted murder. The victim's family had already pointed to the involvement of a lover in the crime.

Jaqueline Alves de Vasconcellos, 48, was arrested this Wednesday (3) suspected of attempting to kill his former daughter-in-law by stabbing her 34 times. The crime took place in the early hours of last Sunday (31), in the Bateau Mouche community, Praça Seca, West Zone of Rio. A second accomplice is still being sought.

The victim, Hayannah de Almeida Vieira, 28, was returning home when, according to her family, she was surrounded by her mother-in-law and her husband's mistress, who had died about two months prior. She was attacked near her home and was eventually rescued by a motorcyclist who was passing by.

The son was a drug dealer.

The Civil Police are investigating whether the crime is related to the death of drug trafficker Hudson Alves de Vasconcelos, known as HN, son of Jaqueline and ex-husband of the victim.

He died in March of this year, in a shootout with military police officers from the 18th BPM (Jacarepaguá).

The victim was constantly threatened.

According to relatives, the relationship between the victim and her former mother-in-law was marked by conflict and constant threats.

“For months she faced conflict and persecution. My sister was constantly the target of threats and intimidation. What should have ended after the death of her partner only continued and intensified,” wrote the victim's sister on social media.

The young woman is hospitalized at the Albert Schweitzer Municipal Hospital and is in stable condition.

The case is being investigated by the 41st Police Precinct (Tanque). During the investigation, officers seized the objects used in the crime, which were sent for forensic analysis.
