"I will not be Eduardo Paes's running mate, nor anyone else's. I am a serious candidate." This statement comes from congresswoman Martha Rocha, the PDT's pre-candidate for mayor of Rio. In an interview on the show "Jogo do Poder," airing tonight at 23:10 PM, she analyzes the succession scenario, criticizes Marcelo Crivella's administration, and questions the excesses of Wilson Witzel's security policy, while acknowledging that crime rates have improved.
According to Martha, the distrust between state deputies and Secretary Lucas Tristão, who allegedly claimed to possess dossiers on the parliamentarians, has not been resolved. After recalling her experience in interrogations, acquired as a police delegate, Martha said that Tristão, when testifying before the Alerj Taxation Committee, did not deny having said that he had such dossiers.
- He simply stated that he did not recall having possessed such records. In other words… – he concluded.
The president of the Ethics Council of the Legislative Assembly of Rio de Janeiro (Alerj), the congresswoman, declined to assess the chances of the five deputies who are attempting to assume their mandates after being arrested in the Lava Jato corruption scandal being impeached.
