A 40-year-old woman was stabbed in the neck by her partner on Monday night (25), in the Jardim Alcântara neighborhood, in São Gonçalo, in the Metropolitan Region. The suspect fled after the crime and is being investigated for attempted femicide.
According to police reports, the victim and the assailant were married and jointly managed a restaurant in the area. The assault occurred at the businesswoman's residence after an argument following the closing of the establishment.
The woman was rescued by another woman and taken to the Alberto Torres State Hospital (Heat), in the Colubandê neighborhood, where she remains hospitalized in serious condition in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU).
The Military Police reported that officers from the 7th Battalion (São Gonçalo) were called after the victim was admitted to the health unit. The case was registered at the 74th Police Station (Alcântara), which is conducting the investigations and searching for the suspect.
