According to a survey conducted by DataPoder 360, Jair Bolsonaro has a very good/good rating of 29%, a fair rating of 20%, and a poor/terrible rating of 48%. Half of the fair contingent approves of the government, while another 35% disapproves. His very good/very good rating among the poor is 35%, and among the rich, it is 19%. In other words, by a twist of fate, Bolsonaro is sustained by the support of the poorest thanks to emergency aid.
A traditional opponent of social compensation policies, the president is completely dependent on government initiatives. Political scientist Alberto Almeida believes Bolsonaro has already understood the political importance of state aid. "Therefore, he is caught in a tug-of-war between liberal economic policy and spending more to support the base of the pyramid," he assesses.
