President of Alerj says Witzel needs to clarify the first lady's contracts

In response to a statement by Congresswoman Rosane Felix (PSD) criticizing the governor's lawyer, Manoel Peixinho, who compared the Rio de Janeiro State Legislative Assembly (Alerj) to a special court, Speaker André Ceciliano stated that lawmakers should not argue with the defense. Instead, they should demand clarification from Governor Wilson Witzel regarding the charges against him.

"The governor, yes, is the one who has to answer for his wife's contracts with companies that provide services to the state; for the field hospitals, for which over R$250 million has already been paid. There used to be one hospital, then five, then seven. And today, we have only one with a maximum of 160 beds. Society demands explanations for over R$1,6 billion in commitments. We shouldn't argue with anyone. We need to demand clarification and work to help the state of Rio de Janeiro."
