Rede D'Or and Bradsaúde have decided to expand their partnership in the healthcare sector with a new hospital project in Rio de Janeiro. The companies announced an agreement to include real estate assets located in São Conrado, in the southern part of the city, for the construction of a new hospital.
According to a statement released to the market, the intention is to develop the construction and operation of a hospital in the neighborhood in the future. The corporate structure of the partnership will be maintained, with Rede D'Or holding 50,01% and Atlântica, a company linked to Bradsaúde, holding 49,99%.
The deal involves the acquisition of 49,99% of the real estate related to Hospital São Conrado D'Or. For the transaction, Atlântica will pay Rede D'Or R$ 59,2 million. The amount will be paid in cash, with part paid upfront and the remainder within six months of the transaction's closing.
Expansion in the healthcare sector
This move reinforces the companies' growth strategy in one of the country's most competitive markets. Rede D'Or, one of the largest hospital networks in Latin America, continues to expand its presence in areas considered strategic in Rio de Janeiro, such as the São Conrado neighborhood.
Bradsaúde also highlighted that the initiative strengthens the company's position as one of the key players in the Bradesco healthcare ecosystem, with Rio de Janeiro as one of its main focuses.
The agreement is still subject to approvals.
Despite the announcement, the completion of the transaction is still contingent upon the fulfillment of conditions that are common in this type of negotiation. These include regulatory approvals and formal steps necessary for the final closing of the agreement.
The project for the new hospital in São Conrado, although no dates have yet been announced, expands the presence of private investment in the healthcare sector in Rio de Janeiro and reinforces the competition for expansion in the high-complexity hospital segment in strategic areas of Rio.
