Ricardo Couto reshuffles his cabinet, making 15 changes in strategic areas of the government.

The acting governor is carrying out dismissals, appointments, and interim designations, with particular emphasis on changes in the Social Communication department, the Civil House, and the Finance Secretariat.

The first day of June began with new changes at Guanabara Palace. Acting Governor Ricardo Couto promoted a broad reorganization in the second tier of the Rio de Janeiro State Government, with a series of decrees published this Monday (1st) in the Official Gazette.

In total, 15 administrative changes were recorded, including nine dismissals, four appointments, and two interim designations. The changes affect areas considered strategic to the state administration and reinforce the process of reorganizing the government structure while Cláudio Castro remains away from his post.

The main changes occurred in the Civil House. André Carvalho Legey Mourão e Lima was appointed to the Sub-Secretariat of Administrative and Patrimonial Management, one of the most important positions in the department. Erica Maria Ribeiro Moura dos Reis took over the Sub-Secretariat of Social Communication and Publicity, the sector responsible for coordinating the government's institutional communication.

In the Finance Department, changes also reached prominent positions. Katia Rebelo left the Presidency of the Tax Review Board, which is now headed by Rodrigo Soares Aguieiras. Another change occurred in the Specialized Chief Tax Auditor's Office, where Marcella de Moura Peluso Reis was appointed.

Behind the scenes in the government, the coincidence of the surnames of two of the new occupants of strategic positions drew attention: Erica Maria Ribeiro Moura dos Reis, in the Civil House, and Marcella de Moura Peluso Reis, in the Treasury. This move generated comments about possible accommodations of political and technical groups linked to the current administrative structure.

The changes also affected important bodies within the state government. There were dismissals in sectors linked to the Secretariat of Energy and Maritime Economy, the Rio de Janeiro State Information and Communication Technology Center (Proderj), and the Institute of Weights and Measures (Ipem).

The expectation is that new appointments will be published in the coming days to fill the vacancies left by the dismissals. The series of changes indicates that Ricardo Couto continues to leave his mark on the state administration, promoting adjustments in areas considered strategic for the functioning of the government.

With these new decrees, the beginning of June is already marked by a significant reorganization in the leadership structure of the Rio de Janeiro state civil service.
