Criminals set fire to barricades on Wednesday night (27) in the Pedreira Complex, in the North Zone of Rio. Images released on social media show a Military Police armored vehicle circulating in the region. In the early hours of Thursday (28), new clashes were recorded in the community.

Still on Wednesday, A driver was kidnapped during a cargo robbery. on the Presidente Dutra Highway, in São João de Meriti, in the Baixada Fluminense region, and taken to the quarry.
The victim was shot in the arm and rescued by military police after a search of the area. The man received medical attention and was then taken to the Emergency Care Unit (UPA) in Costa Barros.
Despite the injury, according to the Military Police, the driver is not in danger of death.
War in the region
The Pedreira Complex, located between the Costa Barros and Pavuna neighborhoods, experiences a routine of violence, caused by territorial disputes against rival drug traffickers from the Chapadão Complex and Morro do Juramento.
