Toffoli gives the Superior Court of Justice 24 hours to explain Witzel's removal

The president of the Supreme Federal Court, Dias Toffoli, has signaled that he intends to quickly decide the fate of Governor Wilson Witzel. Shortly after receiving, this Monday, the defense's appeal against the precautionary measure issued by Minister Benedito Gonçalves, he gave the Superior Court of Justice 24 hours to send information about the case to the Supreme Federal Court.

Then, the Attorney General's Office will have another 24 hours to also send information about the request, which was authorized on Friday by Minister Benedito Gonçalves.
The objective is to instruct the action in which the defense requested the suspension of the injunction that ordered the removal for 180 days.

Next Wednesday (2), the Special Court of the STJ, composed of 15 ministers, will analyze the measure. But Toffoli may determine Witzel's return to office before.
