State Representative Thiago Rangel (Avante) was taken this morning to the Federal Police Headquarters in Campos dos Goytacazes, after to be arrested in the new phase of Operation Nail and Flesh. A video obtained by Agenda do Poder shows the moment the congressman arrives at the corporation's headquarters in Northern Rio de Janeiro. In total, the agents went out to execute seven preventive arrest warrants and 23 search and seizure warrants.
Investigations by the Federal Police point to irregularities in the Northwest Regional Directorate of the State Department of Education, cited as an area of political influence for Rangel. According to the Federal Police, there was a manipulation of contracts awarded by state schools to pre-selected companies linked to the investigated group.
