A motorcyclist reacted to a robbery on Friday afternoon in Campinho, in the northern part of Rio de Janeiro, engaging in a physical struggle with one of the criminals, taking his weapon, and firing shots. The entire incident was recorded by security cameras.
The crime occurred around 17:30 PM on Maricá Street. The man was riding a motorcycle with a woman as a passenger when he was approached by two suspects, also on a motorcycle. Upon announcing the robbery, the criminals searched the couple and stole their belongings.
In the images, one of the bandits returns to his own motorcycle while the other threatens the victim, forcing him to sit on the ground. The motorcyclist is even slapped and kicked. When the criminal tries to get on the couple's motorcycle to escape, the man reacts and stands up, starting a fight.

The woman who was riding on the back of the motorcycle runs away from the scene. The accomplice tries to help him by kicking, but fails to hit the motorcyclist.
During the confusion, the victim manages to disarm the assailant, then starts shooting at him and also in the direction of the second suspect. Despite the shots, both manage to escape.
The Military Police reported that they were not called to the scene. The Civil Police stated that there was no formal record of the case at the local police station, but that the 28th Precinct (Campinho) will investigate.
